Accessibility Statement – Isle of Man Post Office
We want everyone to be able to use our website, regardless of technology or ability. This statement explains our accessibility standards, known issues, and how to give feedback.
Our Standards
Our website is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
We aim to:
· Use clear and simple language
· Ensure all content is readable and keyboard-accessible
· Provide sufficient contrast and text resizing
· Use alt text for images and icons
· Ensure forms and interactive tools are screen reader friendly
Images and Visual Design
We aim to make our visual content accessible to all users.
· All essential images include descriptive alt text to support screen reader users
· Icons used on the site have clear labels or text equivalents
· We avoid using colour alone to convey meaning
· We maintain strong contrast between text and background
· Visual content scales properly for users who zoom or use high-contrast settings
We continuously review our media and imagery to meet accessibility requirements and improve usability.
Known Issues
We know some parts of our site are not fully accessible:
· Some PDFs are not fully tagged for screen readers
· Video content may lack full captions or audio descriptions
· Older documents may not meet current accessibility standards
We are working to fix these issues as part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility.
